History
The Children of Promise was established in 2012 by Danny and Margaret O’Quinn who retired after 34 years in Christian ministry. The O’Quinn’s started serving the Lord in 1978 where they were house-parents at Boys Country of Houston for 10 years. In 1988 they founded Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch. Still Creek was created with a mission to rescue boys and girls from crisis environments including abuse, neglect, abandonment, and sex trafficking, by placing them in safe, loving, Christ-centered homes. In the 24 years of service at Still Creek Boys & Girls Ranch many miracles occurred and God took the original 14 acres and 5 buildings and blessed and expanded it into over 300 acres, a Christian Academy, an 80,000 sq. ft. covered equestrian center, administrative offices, staff housing, as well as 5 cottages/homes that house the children. Margaret shares her story of their journey of faith, service and miracles in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKi1_cpWI7E&feature=share
After the untimely passing of Margaret O’Quinn in July 2015, Danny and the O’Quinn’s 3 grown children, along with several faithful friends in the community vowed to continue the long heritage and legacy of Margaret O’Quinn by continuing the ministry of Children of Promise by taking care of all of those in need, including widows and orphans through the direction of Christ and His Kingdom supporters.
